Dedicated BookScouters, rejoice! We’ve enabled a new Bluetooth scanner feature on the mobile app to scan a lot of books quickly.
As you know, BookScouter compares buyback prices by using the ISBN of your book. Using your phone’s camera, our mobile app can scan the barcode on the back of books so you don’t have to put in the ISBN, but you can also tap in the ISBN manually.
Many people find used textbooks at garage sales and library sales they buy cheaply and sell on BookScouter for a profit. To ensure the money-making process is fast and easy, Bluetooth scanners are now compatible with the BookScouter app.
To set up your Bluetooth scanner, follow the instructions for the individual scanner to sync it with your phone. Connect the scanner to your phone, not the BookScouter app. Have your scanner set up and functioning as a keyboard.
Open the BookScouter app and scan the barcode of a book. BookScouter will give you a list of buyback vendors and their prices. No need to return to the home screen, simply scan another textbook barcode, and the app will search for new results.
The BookScouter app is available for download in the App Store and Google Play.
